Making the artwork

Everything you see here is made in Adobe Illustrator... that's it and that's that. Illustrator isn't a 3D rendering program, it's just a straight forward drawing and painting application. What is nice about the art work though is that it's vectorized. That mean it can be scaled to any size require without loosing any detail quality.

Each instrument panel is created in 100% full size and starts with acquiring original blue prints or engineering drawings of the chosen panel.

This isn't always as simply as it seems. Maybe you can help?

Then   starts  the   hard   work

Once suitable quality engineering drawing have been acquired, then starts the long process of building up the panel in layers. The main panel, the the Blind Flying panel are first completed and then weathering and texture are added. Once satisfactury, each instrument, which has been individual illustrated priviously, is then added follwing the blue prints. Then screws, bolts are added and finally, the entire picture merged into one with highlights and shadows added to create dimension. Time is measured in months not hours.

Working with Apple Mac.

I've been using apple computers in my daily job since the mid 80's. Thats right, some of us where there right at the very beginning. Even though we couldn't understand much... and things having changed any, we just got so used to creating using these machines and the accompanying software from newbee companies like Adobe, that we just eventually put down our paint brushes and when mouse mad. Now 20 years later I'm more devoted to Mac than ever. If you're not already Mac'd. Give them a look in. apple.com
