Been working on the rudder details, looks good compared to the sketch on the right.
Rudder balance tab and push rod finished. Metal fairing under rudder now far more accurate. Hinge and pinking tape details improved. Rivet details under stab improved. Plus the all important space between the rudder top and fin!

I've capitulate d  to Friends Across the Pond.

Well i tried to keep this a simple one-sided affair and Illustrate British aircraft instrument panels but the pressure became to much. To easy the Anglo-American relationship I've started on a P-47 panel, modelled on the later versions from 1944 onwards (similar to the above) and hopefully I haven't bitten off more than I can chew. Right now I have a mouthful of gristle so if you know anything about USAF instruments, PLEASE get in contact.

Sopwith  Camel propeller construction drawings

I recently sold a beautiful original propeller from WW1 of the type used on a Sopwith Camel. It had been in my procession for almost 25years and it was time to pass it on an avid collector bro love and cherish for another 25 years. Before it went I spent a week jigging up the propeller and taking accurate measurements. These are being transferred to a line drawing as we speak and I hope to have it ready in early 2023.

Typhoon  Instrument panel progress

12/30/2022

After selling my soul I've eventually sourced some original factory drawings for the instrument panel so work has now commenced. It's going to be a big panel. The Hurricane was remarkably larger than the Spitfire, the Typhoon larger still.
I start by blocking in the individual pieces  that make up the panel and conturing them to achieve a 3 dimensional effect.

HAWKER TYPHOON  Progress

IT's Getting there

The Typhoon is nearing completion. Just a few minor details to work with such as mud or no mud on the UC, cockpit front window need detailing but  overall it's a good rendition and BIG! Small screen shots don't do it justice, on print your eyes just wonder from panel to panel, scratches to rivets. Wonderful.
